Our Story

THE BEGINNING

India was born to two beautiful parents, Jenean Simms and Raphael Sanchez on May 28th, 1992 in Chicago, Illinois. She was, and still is, such a fun, energetic and warm girl that they used to call her Mitha Meet. At the age of 9, she moved to Fresno California with her mother and her grandmother. She would live there until she completed high school. She attended college at Bacon college in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She then moved to Houston, Texas and lived there for one year before moving back home to Fresno. She joined the Navy in 2014 and was stationed in Camarillo, California for two years and it was during those two years that she met John.

India enjoys playing chess, reading, cooking, traveling, listening podcasts and spending time with her Fiancé.

John (aka Dark Fresh) was born in Orlando, Florida on July 2nd, 1977 to Melvin and Sandra Cody. At the age of two, John moved to Seattle, Washington with his father where he would live until he was 12 years old. He then moved to California to live with his mother where he completed high school and attended Glendale Jr College.

While pursuing a career in the music industry, John also started working in internet marketing. Over the years, John has excelled in marketing and is now the VP of Affiliate Marketing for the largest short term loan company in the country.

John enjoys hiking, making music, traveling, working and spending time with his lovely Fiancée.

How we met

John and India met on the online dating app, Soul Swipe. They matched on the app and messaged each other a few times. Eventually, India gave John her phone number.

John texted India but did not receive a response. John decided to message India one more time on the app only to find out that India had given him the wrong phone number by accident.

Once she gave him the right number, John texted her the same day and invited her on a date. They went on a date that same night and thus began their beautiful journey of love.

OUR FIRST DATE

For their first date, John and India went to a beachside restaurant in Malibu on the coast of California. While driving through Malibu Canyon on the way to the restaurant, they talked a bit while listening to music. At one point, India was trying to tell John about her goals in life but John turned up the music in the middle of the conversation.

Apparently, he wanted to show off his sound system while India was wondering why the music was on so loud. Later on they would laugh about this. While at the restaurant, they sat outside and talked, learning a lot about each other. The connection was immediate. It was as if they had known each other for years. India tried alligator for the first time and liked it. They had an amazing dinner together. India was impressed at how Fresh John was and they have been together every day since unless one of them is traveling or doing something important for work.

After that wonderful first date, John and India, who are consummate foodies, have gone out to eat at wonderful restaurants and India has made John countless shrimp and grits dinners, which he enjoys. John has introduced India to hiking and 3D movies which he thoroughly enjoys though they give her a headache.

The two lovebirds also travel a lot both for work and leisure.

OUR FIRST KISS

After the wonderful dinner, they went to the beach and talked even more while staring into the night and listening to the ocean.India was freezing and couldn’t stop thinking about how cold it was while John was waiting for the right moment to kiss her.

While India was holding her arms close to her body, John wrapped his arms around her, pulled her close, looked into her eyes and kissed her.

THE FIRST I LOVE YOU

It was John who said the first ‘I love you’ during a private intimate moment after India had had a long day. India declared her love for John by having it written on his birthday cake.

Since then, their love for each other has grown in both depth and breadth since they share the same values. John loves India’s kind heart, her sense of humor, her ambition, her open-mindedness, the fact that she will make a good mother, her dainty little feet and, of course, her stunning beauty.

As for India, she loves the fact that John is loving, patient,
understanding, wise, ambitious, charming, funny, honest and romantic. John is also the ultimate man for India; he’s her ultimate provider, friend and gentleman. India also loves John’s laugh, his lips and his spiky eyebrow hairs.

THE PROPOSAL

John and India got engaged in Fiji. They took a trip and stayed at a resort on a private Island. India had an idea that John was going to propose but she thought it was going to be a traditional proposal on the beach over dinner. Little did she know that Mr. Dark Fresh had reserved a private zip line course and made arrangements with the staff at the course to set up flowers and music at the highest point on the course.

John chose that spot because of its amazing view. He wanted it to be special. At the zip line right before the proposal spot, John left India and went ahead to get set up. The staff stalled her as long as they could by taking pictures and asking her about work. Eventually, India was suspicious and decided that she had to go find John.

Once she reached the proposal location, she saw the beautiful flowers and the breath-taking view. She then saw John waiting for her and was in awe. People (staff) began popping out of bushes and dropping from the trees with cameras. John got down on one knee and proposed. India was shaking with excitement and quickly said yes. They then finished the zip line course and had an amazing dinner that the staff had prepared for them as well as a homemade cake that was very delicious. Once they returned to the resort, the staff there was waiting to congratulate them. Their room has been decorated with flowers and champagne on ice.

This proposal marked a new chapter in John and India’s beautiful love story. This story has been characterized by patience, commitment and a tight bond that grows stronger every day. They plan to have children, start a few more businesses and grow old together.
